The Headlines
Third Try To De-List Haynes House...Denied Again
The owner of the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed John D. Haynes House (1952) in Fort Wayne, IN attempted to have his home removed from the list of local historic districts for the third time. Owner Richard J. Herber, who voluntarily sought the home's historic listing in 2008, has recently (and repeatedly) sought to have the Fort Wayne City Council de-list the home. Luckily, the Council voted unanimously to keep the listing in place, protecting the home...for now. Follow the link to read more.
A Visit To Pittsburgh's Frank Lloyd Wright Country
The New York Times recently featured Pittsburgh's cluster of Frank Lloyd Wright (and related) architecture in the Laurel Highlands, including Fallingwater and the transplanted Wright's found at Polymath Park. Follow the link to read more.
George Nelson's Kirkpatrick House For Sale
Curbed reports that the beautifully restored 1955 George Nelson-designed James and Sally Kirkpatrick House (and all of its period furnishings) in Kalamazoo, MI are for sale for $450,000. It didn't take long for a buyer to jump at this beauty and I'm happy to report the sellers have accepted an offer.
Eric had the pleasure of visiting this Modern gem as a follow-up tour to one of the recent Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy Conferences and can tell you it's stunning. Get more details and see a lot more photos here.
Not Wright Now: UNESCO Bid Referrel Still In The News

Here's a round-up of the various news stories analyzing what the decision means and what the future might hold. Read the Chicago Tribune, Curbed, and Washington Post stories.
