Wright Studio Having Free Holiday Open House

The Frank Lloyd Wright Trust welcomes the public on Saturday, December 2, 2017 to Wright's Oak Park Home and Studio for "Home for the Holidays" which features tours, refreshments, and discounts. Wright's home will be decked for the holidays as it was when the family lived in the house in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In keeping with tradition, a 12-foot Christmas tree with handmade ornaments will be in the children's playroom. The open house is free, but registration is required online. Read more.

A Look Inside the Dana-Thomas House

Frank Lloyd Wright's Dana-Thomas House will be participating in the Downtown Springfield, Illinois Holiday Walk this year. The house will be open until 8pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 and offer guided tours through the house decked out in holiday decorations. Read more.

Local Relative Donates Photo of William Carey Wright

In recognition and celebration of the 150th anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright's birth, Mary C. Rogers has donated a photo of William Carey Wright, father of the famous architect, to the Marion Heritage Center and Museum, in Marion, Iowa.

William Carey Wright was born in 1825 and lived until 1904. A good part of that time he was a Methodist minister who preached in many different locations in eastern Iowa, including from Belle Plaine to Washington to McGregor on the Mississippi River. Mrs. Rogers is a local family relative. The photo is a studio card and is stamped "Hawkeye Studio Marion, Iowa, c. 1890."

Admission to the Heritage Center is free, thanks to a grant from the McIntyre Foundation of Cedar Rapids. Read more.

Brunch at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin

Beginning this weekend Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin will offer brunch Saturday's and Sundays through April 29, 2018 at their Riverview Terrace Cafe inside the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor's Center.

Originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed/expanded by the Taliesin Associated Architects, the building serves as a restaurant for travelers and locals alike, as well as the gateway to visiting Taliesin.

Brunch will be served Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-2pm. View menu.

Still Time to Experience SC Johnson

With the Chicago Architecture Biennial hitting its halfway point, there is still time to experience Frank Lloyd Wright's designs at SC Johnson's world headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. Since the Biennial opened in September, more than 5,000 people have taken the tour, with 2,700 guests using the free shuttle bus from downtown Chicago to Racine. Read more.
